Butcombe Brewing Co. was founded in 1978, a time of cultural, social and political change, way before well-crafted beer was even called craft beer. Over time, it had lost some of its naturally eclectic personality and relevance with a younger audience.
We refocused brand strategy with the idea ‘born to stand out’, injecting more meaning and Bristol provenance into the overall identity and brand world, whilst giving each product in the portfolio its own distinct look and feel.
Launched as the hospitality sector came out of lockdown, Butcombe pubs saw like-for-like sales growth of 26% versus 2019 (pre-pandemic).
